Subject: needed module not required during install
Email-Send-Gmail-0.31 perl, v5.8.8 built for i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi Ubuntu 7.10, 2.6.22-14-generic It seems that IO-Socket-SSL is needed for Email-Send-Gmail to work. Example script didn't work until IO-Socket-SSL was installed. Other SSL-related modules may be needed as well. I installed Net-SSLeay and Crypt-SSLeay trying to get script to work, but example script didn't work until IO-Socket-SSL was installed. IO-Socket-SSL was not required during the install of Email-Send-Gmail. I don't remember being prompted to install it. Thanks!
Looks like it's really a bug in Net-SMTP-SSL, reported as ticket #30947.

Just installed on another computer and it appears resolved. Looks like the necessary changes to Net-SMTP-SSL were made. Thanks Leon!
Happy customer, resolved.
