Hi, In the plug section, you have: See http://musicwatcher.sf.net/ for programs that use this module. I think this has changed to http://musicwatcher.berlios.de/home Todd

Hi Todd, Thanks so much for reporting an error in the documentation. In fact what really happened was the project shifted focus and then got dropped as I wound up with more important things to do (damn reality, don't you just hate that? :-) If you are interested in some software that uses Audio::Analyzer I have some stuff I wrote for myself personally that I never published but that I don't have a problem giving away. If you would like it you can have a copy of the full software suite that generated these animations and can do it for any arbitrary raw PCM file: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QfhRVnv0bw4 and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8EOtbaMT84 It can do the following things: 1) Perform distributed rendering; I was able to aggregate together about 30 ghz of CPU power to do animations in one night that would take my computer weeks on it's own. It's fragile and too simple but it does work in a non-optimal way. 2) Operates in a fairly checkpointable manner; not perfectly but it will save considerable time for the operations that can take hours or longer in the event of problems 3) Does pretty much everything else for you to generate the animation, including assembly, compression, cleaning up temporary files, etc except for help you write the actual output from the entire thing: that's up to you. 4) Other stuff I'm sure that I just can't remember because I haven't touched it in a long time Let me know if you are interested and have a good one, Tyler Riddle On 11/15/07, todd.fischer@ridgerun.com via RT <bug-Audio-Analyzer@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

Wow, what a great response. Thanks, Tyler. Actually, my needs are very simple. I have a short WAV file and I just want a FFT of it. When I searched the web Audio::Analyzer showed up and looks like it is very close to what I need. There will be some silence, tone data I want to transform, and more silence. Seems like Audio::Analyzer should handle that well. I am impressed with your much more advanced spectrum analyzer with 3D animation - very cool. I feel bad my need is so simple; you make a masterpiece. If you feel for simple FFT needs like mine there is a better perl package than Audio::Analyzer, please let me know. I've updated the documentation to point at the files I created with Audio::Analyzer and that I put on Youtube. Thanks for pointing out that the documentation had errors in it. Tyler On Thu Nov 15 16:43:36 2007, todd.fischer@ridgerun.com wrote: Show quoted text
