Subject: Cleaning up /tmp directory
Today I can conclude from the timestamp that running make test on SMUELLER/PAR-Repository-Client-0.16.tar.gz has left over a directory /tmp/par-sand/ containing randomly named subdirectories. Would it be feasible without too much hassle to cleanup /tmp/ directory after being run? Thanks!

This is a general PAR thing. The directories under par-$USER are caches for individual .par's that were loaded. I just checked and realized they were empty after make test anyway. I'll see whether I can remove them without deleting the par-$USER directory which may contain valid application caches. This might take some time, though, so don't hold your breath. This is not my experience. The par-sand directory contained a couple of cache directories and they were not empty. But now that you explained it to me, I understand that they were probably left over from other tests from other packages. Show quoted text

No problem. I just wanted to raise your awareness that some the /tmp directory need some cleanup after tests. Since I started testing I have a new sensibility for this question ;) -- andreas
Hi Andreas, It's been a while since you filed this ticket. It was only today that an obvious solution occurred to me. Any versions of PAR::Repository::Client *beyond* 0.21_01 will not leave test files around in /tmp. I haven't made a release yet since this is the only change since 0.21_01. Thanks for going through the trouble of regularly filing tickets for all the problems you diagnose. Writing those up is not a small task. Best regards, Steffen
