Subject: Impossible to upgrade Test::Inline due to File::chmod licensing
Date: Fri, 27 Jul 2007 09:26:07 +0200
To: bug-Test-Inline [...] rt.cpan.org
From: Ralf Corsepius <rc040203 [...] freenet.de>
Hi Adam, I am the maintainer of the perl-Test-Inline package in Fedora. Recently (> 2.202) you've added a dependency of Test::Inline on File::chmod (http://search.cpan.org/~pinyan/File-chmod-0.31) Unfortunately, File::chmod doesn't carry any licensing information, so we will not be able to ship it, because "no licensing" would push us on muddy legal terrain. As a consequence of this, I don't see any possibility to upgrade perl-Test-Inline in Fedora, unless this issue can be somehow resolved. TIA, Ralf
I've moved this ticket over to File-chmod so they know to add some licensing.

I give permission to license File::chmod under the same license as Test::Inline. On 7/27/07, Michael G Schwern via RT <bug-File-chmod@rt.cpan.org> wrote: Show quoted text

Thanks for the bug report. I will chase up the author of File::chmod and get him to do an incremental release that has licensing information in it. Judging by his other CPAN release over the years, the lack of license information is just an oversight on his part. Adam K rc040203@freenet.de via RT wrote: Show quoted text

This bug has been resolved. Jeff Pinyan has just uploaded a new version of File::chmod that has the license documented. It should hit CPAN mirrors shortly. Adam K rc040203@freenet.de via RT wrote: Show quoted text

Okay, obviously RT has some permission system, could someone mark this ticket as resolved? Thanks.
