Subject: Only download the latest distribution
Currently CPAN::Mini downloads every dist that the cpan indexer reports as being the latest (less any filters). The problem with that is if a new version of a dist is released but has removed a module which has already been indexed, then both versions remain in the index. It would be nice to be able to ignore everything but the latest version a dist.

There is no actual mechanism for identifying distributions. I am not excited about formalizing a regex for determining dist name, although maybe I'd do so with CPAN::DistnameInfo. Given the minimal impact in the size and utility of the mirror when it contains the "extra" dists, I think this feature can be left for a subclass. -- rjbs
