Subject: ExtUtils::Installed has a limited view of the world
Let the user set what directories ExtUtils::Installed searches. See http://archive.develooper.com/makemaker@perl.org/msg01187.html for a patch. Duplicate of perlbug 22627. Waiting until after next stable release for consideration.
Subject: allow caller to specify additonal directories in ExtUtils::Installed::new
Moved from perlbug 22627. To: perlbug@perl.org Subject: allow caller to specify additonal directories in ExtUtils::Installed::new CC: jwest@cptech.com From: John West <jwest@cptech.com> Date: Mon, 09 Jun 2003 17:47:46 -0400 This is a bug report for perl from jwest@cptech.com, generated with the help of perlbug 1.34 running under perl v5.8.0. ----------------------------------------------------------------- [Please enter your report here] If possible, it would be nice if the ExtUtils::Installed::new() function would accept additional directories to search for packlists. This would allow a module removal routine (such as the one in the POD of ExtUtils::Packlist) to consider, for example, modules installed under a user's home directory. Thanks --John [Please do not change anything below this line] -----------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.makemaker.org/wiki/index.cgi?ModulesForSale ExtUtils::Installed is due to be split out of MakeMaker. I'll leave this to whomever the maintainer is. Since you've expressed interested and ability, perhaps you'd like to take it?
As far as i know ExtUtils::Installed has this functionality now so im going to close the ticket. Thanks for the report/request.
