Subject: | abandon Sys::Hostname::FQDN |
I could not get this installed on my Debian 4 box because
Sys::Hostname::FQDN would not compile. Then I saw that all it's used for
is getting the short hostname, which has been in the core since perl 5
with Sys::Hostname.
If it's a speed issue, it could be cached when the Backup object is
created and then cached, becoming a blip. It's a shame that this
unmaintained module, FQDN, could be blocking other people from using the
excellent and clearly maintained Net::Flickr::Backup.
