Subject: Default Namespace doesn't exist :(
I happened to be using the default install for Debian, which is 0.09, but the problem exists all the way up to the current version. The purl.org link used in the %NS_MAP hash doesn't exist. Although feed readers can still render the feed, it does mean that the feed isn't truly valid. If the original URL is known, can this replace the PURL one or can the W3C one be used instead?

Can you tell me what's the specific problem? I make Atom 0.3 as a default namespace for backward compatiblity.

See http://barbie.missbarbell.co.uk/rss/atom-0.3.xml for the actual feed that was created. The namespace used is 'http://purl.org/atom/ns' which doesn't exist. Although when using a feed reader this still renders, using a validation service (such as http://validator.w3.org/feed/ or http://feedvalidator.org) I get the error "This feed uses an obsolete namespace". I have since dropped the use of Atom 0.3, so would be happy for you to now sent this to resolve/will not fix, but just for completeness it would have been nice for the resulting XML to not have any errors or warnings.
