Just curious - what's you're architecture? (thinking this might be a 64 vs 32 bit address space problem). Thanks!

Yeah, it might be, but then, it is simple that my system is somehow broken, as I cannot compile (any) Perl, and even a freshly compiled Devel::Size differens in results from the one I have currently installed. I do not now why this happens, tho. Currently I am trying to setup some vmware to compile stuff inside it and see if that works more reliable. What's worse, tho, is that I think my code is correct and *should* actually return the result it returns on my system, but then, I don't understand much of the Perl internals. Investigating...
