Subject: Please consider adding two-level domains
Date: Wed, 28 Mar 2007 18:04:03 +0200
To: bug-Net-Domain-TLD [...] rt.cpan.org
From: gregor herrmann <gregor+debian [...] comodo.priv.at>
Hi, today we received a whishlist bug at the Debian bug tracking system asking for the inclusion of two-level domains (like .co.uk, .com.tw, etc.) to Net-Domain-TLD (cf. http://bugs.debian.org/416479 for the full report). Although that might be useful I'm a little hesitant to patch the Debian package because it would change the module's "character" somehow. Therefore I'd like to ask you for considering this issue first. Thanks in advance, Gregor (Debian Perl Group) -- .''`. http://info.comodo.priv.at/ | gpg key ID: 0x00F3CFE4 : :' : debian: the universal operating system - http://www.debian.org/ `. `' member of https://www.vibe.at/ | how to reply: http://got.to/quote/ `- NP: Bob Dylan: Moonlight

The support for country code second level domains will be added soon, it will probably be released as a separate module rather then trying to bind this functionality into the existing Net::Domain::TLD module, because it does not really belong there. TLD implies top level not second level domains. Thank you for the report.

Cool, thanks. Show quoted text

Right, I was thinking the same and that's why I hesitated to create a patch against the existing module. Thanks for the information! Does not apply. Should be released separately

Ok. In March you said that a new module with second level domains might be released; any plans, informations on that? no plans atm.feel free to add this as separate module. Net::Domain::SLD may be a suitable choice On Tue Dec 11 17:52:42 2007, gregor+debian@comodo.priv.at wrote: Show quoted text
