Subject: testing problems with .61
Hi Grant, I'm writing to inform you of a problem I've had the last few days building the 0.61 version of WWW-Myspace. I've attached the CPAN::Reporter output from both build/tests versions I thought were pertinent. The first "with_ids.myspace" was the output from testing with myspace id information setup. The second one, "no_id.myspace" is with the test login removed. In previous builds I've tried taking YAML back down to 0.39, and Spiffy back down to 0.24, but those changes didn't seem to have any effect. Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, Shane Chambers

I've seen those errors showing up on all the tests. I'm not sure what's causing it yet. Appears to have popped up around 0.60 but I haven't had time to track it down. Thanks for submitting it to RT. On Jan 4, 2007, at 12:36 AM, Shane Chambers via RT wrote: Show quoted text

Well, it looks good. I went ahead and forced the install, and did a test run. The approve_friends script worked just fine. Thanks for the quick reply. If I get some time, I'll see if I can give you some better feedback about the problem. I'm not familiar with YAML, but I am decent perl programmer, that is unfortunately knee deep in two other projects at the moment. No promises, but I'll see if I can help. Thanks again! Hi Shane, I actually looked into the errors a bit more today. The errors you're reporting are slightly different than the other tests that are failing. It looks like the test_config.yaml file you're using has something wrong with the format, which is causing the error when you're testing with the logins. If you want to attach it (or just email it to me directly) I can look at it. I'm not sure what's causing the error in the other case - I can't reproduce it here. It looks to me like it might be a temporary issue. The test that's failing simply tries to login with a bad username and checks to make sure it gets the proper error page. For some reason, it's not getting the proper error page for you. Unfortunately, due to Myspace's incredible instability, the tests do intermittently fail despite the over-the-top robustness I've had to build into the module... Since you force-installed, also note the other current bugs in RT due to recent myspace changes (get_friends and get_comments aren't working - it's possible some other methods aren't as well). Also, you need to install Crypt::SSLeay due to today's change requiring SSL to log in... Grant
Issue believed to be in users test_config file.

Wow, I apologize. After I posted the message about forcing the install, I didn't think to look back here again. Ironic thing, Myspace fubar'd that whole account, right after that. It hasn't been able to send messages, or post comments until just today. Since I'm using the approve_friends script for a radio station, I haven't had the need to test the code, with the account screwed up. On a side note, everything went smooth on the .62 install I just did. Thanks again, Shane
