Subject: mqv6 compatibility in aix environment
Hi, have issues been resolved in regards to MQSeries Version 6. I intend to upgrade from v5.3 to 6 on the AIX 5.3 (perl build v5.8.0) when MQSeries 1.24 is released. MQSeries::Command has been quite helpful and we use it extensively in monitoring software we developed inhouse. thanks

I'm not sure what issues you mean. The 1.23 release of the perl MQSeries is known to work on AIX with MQ v6; the README doesn't say so, but that's because the release pre-dates the MQ v6 release. Release 1.24 of the perl MQSeries module has been delayed by well over a year but is getting closer - hopefulyl within 6 weeks or so. It will support most of the new MQ v6 features in the MQSeries::Command class, including PCF commands against MQ on z/OS, though not yet the new features in the MQI. Please try and install release 1.23; if you run into any issues, you can contact me by email in the address listed in the module. Regards, Hildo

I'll give it a shot. There had been an open issue on CPAN with another individual from several months ago. It looked like you were working with him on an install issue with 1.23 after he had installed version 6...Thanks much Bob Kunz HFS Technical Services Ph:(217) 558-0021 Email: Bob.Kunz@illinois.gov Show quoted text

Please try the 1.25 release of the MQSeries module, which should work on AIX with MQ v6.
