Subject: Show some kind of indication where diff regions are
Hello Michael, I am the author of tkrevdiff (see http://ptktools.sourceforge.net/#tkrevdiff ) which is a Perl/Tk based diff programm, but with another aim as Tk::DiffText, namely generating quick diffs between revisions of a file. I find it very helpful, especially in large files, if some kind of indication of the diff regions is shown. In tkrevdiff, there is a small bar beside the scrollbar (newer Tk versions) or even inside the scrollbar (older Tk versions under X11, which had still -tile support) which shows the diff regions (see link or attached image). Maybe you can implement something similar? Regards, Slaven

Slaven, I agree completely. I already have scaled & scrolled map support on the todo list. Implementation is waiting on tuits and a little inspiration. (Some things that are easy for scaled maps are hard for scrolled and vice-versa.) Unfortunately Tk doesn't seem to have hooks to get at all the information I would like, which makes things harder. -mjc
As of version 0.16, Tk::DiffText now supports both scrolled and scaled difference maps. (It's also possible to disable the map if you don't want it.)
