Subject: Help on SpamAssassin 3.1.7 Installation
Date: Fri, 27 Oct 2006 17:18:29 -0400
To: <bug-Mail-SpamAssassin [...] rt.cpan.org>
From: "Ernie De Guzman Jr." <edeguzman [...] clement.com>
Hi! I hope you guys out there can help me install SpamAssassin 3.1.7. We have been using SpamAssassin 3.1.1 for a while now and it's been working really well for us. Our SPAMs are down by 90%-95% and we are very happy with it. Recently, we got a notice from HP that they will discontinue support on HP-UX 11.0 and that we have to upgrade to at least HP-UX 11i. With this, I would like to upgrade to the latest version of SpamAssassin as well. Here is the specs of the machine I am working with: HP E35 with 512 MB RAM HP-UX 11.11 Patch 06/2006 Sendmail 8.13.3 Procmail 4.0.2 Perl 5.8.8 Perl Modules installed: BerkeleyDB-0.27 DB_File-1.814 DB_File-DB_Database-0.031 Digest-SHA1-2.11 HTML-Parser-3.54 MIME-Base64-3.07 Mail-SPF-Query-1.999.1 Net-IP-1.24 NetAddr-IP-3.028 Storable-2.15 Sys-Hostname-Long-1.4 Sys-Syslog-0.18 db-4.4.20.NC Net-CIDR-Lite-0.20 Net-DNS-0.57 Attached is the output of "perl Makefile.PL" and a portion of the "make" output. I tried all the other releases and it seemed like my setup just worked only up to the SpamAssassin 3.1.4 release. Starting from 3.1.5 to 3.1.7, it just hangs on make after spamc. The few last lines of the output are: spamc/spamc.c: spamc/libspamc.c: spamc/utils.c: cp spamc/spamc blib/script/spamc blib/script/spamc I hope somebody out there can help me. Thanks a lot. Ernie.

Hi, Please send queries about using/install/etc SpamAssassin to the users@spamassassin.apache.org list. We actually don't use this RT system for anything.
please use the upstream bug tracker at http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org if this is still an issue.
