CGI-FormBuilder-3.0401
Using a select field with the "other" option, if the field has a
value which is not in the options list, then the "other" text input
field is correctly enabled and filled in, but the select field is not
set to "Other:". This means that a subsequent submit will reset the
field to whatever is the default for the select.
This piece of code shows this behaviour (it's in HTML::Mason, but I
think it's clear all the same):
<%init>
use CGI::FormBuilder;
my $form = CGI::FormBuilder->new(header=>1);
$form->field('choice',type=>'select',options=>
{aaa=>'bbb',ccc=>'ddd',eee=>'fff',ggg=>'hhh',iii=>'jjj'},other=>1);
my $field = $form->field;
</%init>
<% $form->render(values=>$field) %>
<%perl>
if ( $form->submitted ) {
$m->print('<hr>');
$m->print('Submitted Values:<br>');
foreach (keys %{$field}) {
$m->print($_ . ' = ' . $field->{$_} . '<br>');
}
}
</%perl>
