Subject: problems converting swf to flv
I've converted this file with swf2flv, but I can't find any player that is compatible with it. After converting, flvinfo returns this: File name teste12102006.flv File size 68995 bytes Duration about 14 seconds Video 31 frames codec Screen video height 12306 type interframe/keyframe width 8978/4882 Meta 1 event canSeekToEnd 1 creationdate Thu Oct 12 16:54:14 2006 duration 15.5 framerate 12 height 550 videocodecid 3 videodatarate 34.4591733870968 width 752

Marcelo, I just wanted to note that I've received this bug report. I'm very happy to receive it, because you're the first person to report using the module with screen video! I'll try to look at your sample SWF this weekend. If you don't hear from me by next week, feel free to ping me again. -- Chris

Marcelo, Sorry about the long delay. Unfortunately, this is a very complicated SWF that cannot be easily converted into FLV. The SWF contains a combination of video, bitmaps and shapes combined onto the video buffer in a very clever way to minimize the file size. However, to make an FLV out of that would require someone to basically write a SWF renderer and convert the rendered bitmaps back into video -- not something am eager to take on at this time. So, I'm going to reject this report, unfortunately. I will add a TODO for myself to put more warnings about problematic conversions in swf2flv, however. Thank you for the report, nonetheless. That SWF was interesting to examine. Chris
