MakeMaker generated PPD files don't match the PPD spec. The PPD spec can be found here. http://search.cpan.org/~murray/PPM-2.1.7/lib/PPM/XML/PPD.pm "ARCHITECHTURE" is not there, for example.

Looking through the source and using git blame, I believe this ticket is resolved.
