Subject: possible bad tgz
I downloaded the tgz by HTTP from search.cpan.org on 2003.2.14 and on untarring it in cygwin on Windows NT got the following errors: $ tar zxvf HTML-QuickTable-1.10.tar.gz tar: Archive value 88578 is out of uid_t range 0..65535 HTML-QuickTable-1.10/ tar: Archive value 88578 is out of uid_t range 0..65535 HTML-QuickTable-1.10/QuickTable.pm tar: Archive value 88578 is out of uid_t range 0..65535 HTML-QuickTable-1.10/Makefile.PL tar: Archive value 88578 is out of uid_t range 0..65535 HTML-QuickTable-1.10/README tar: Archive value 88578 is out of uid_t range 0..65535 HTML-QuickTable-1.10/test.pl tar: Archive value 88578 is out of uid_t range 0..65535 HTML-QuickTable-1.10/Changes tar: Archive value 88578 is out of uid_t range 0..65535 HTML-QuickTable-1.10/MANIFEST tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors Since testers reported it works okay I will try to get another copy from somewhere else or just download from the Browse link. Your archive is the only one I've ever seen such a problem.

Incidentally I also got an error (which I've seen before with some other modules) on making it in cygwin.. $ perl Makefile.PL Writing Makefile for HTML::QuickTable $ make Makefile:643: *** missing separator. Stop. Matt (mattr atttt telebody dotcom)
