Subject: the Makefile.PL question that asks if GIF should be disabled is no longer necessary
Makefile.PL currently asks if GIF support should be disabled, since older versions of libungif/giflib had bugs that could cause crashes during Imager's test process. Current versions of these libraries have the bugs fixed, and any older versions distributed by OS packagers should already have fixes patched in. This makes the question much less important than it used to be,
