Subject: Net::DNS and Tie::STDERR conflicts
Gentlemen, I am getting the following compile-time error if I try to use your respective modules in the same script: #!/usr/bin/perl # test.pl use Tie::STDERR 'brady@auditionsinteractive.com','test.pl error'; use Net::DNS; 1; Show quoted text
>test.pl
Output to STDERR detected in ./test.pl: Can't locate Net/DNS/RR/SIG.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.6.1 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.6.1/i386-linux /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.6.1 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl .) at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.6.1/Net/DNS/RR.pm line 82. It looks like Tie::STDERR is interfering with eval {}. I'm not that familar with Tie::STDERR, you might want to ask the author of that module if it interfers with eval. Net::DNS tries to load those modules with eval, if it fails, then Net-DNS handles the error as an indication that that functionality is not to be used. -- Chris Reinhardt ctriv@dyndns.org Systems Architect Dynamic DNS Network Services http://www.dyndns.org/
