Please resume distributing the raw files. I need the country code to authority information. Alternately, put this in another GIF file and supply a method for accessing it.

Sorry for this. Until I receive replies from the four regional internet registries (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC), I can't redistribute their raw files. Distributing the derived data is also somewhat dubious, but the raw data is no longer needed by IP::Country::Fast, so I've dropped it for safety. FTP sites for monthly updates of the registry files are: ftp://ftp.arin.net/pub/stats/arin/ ftp://ftp.ripe.net/ripe/stats/ ftp://ftp.apnic.net/public/apnic/stats/apnic/ ftp://ftp.lacnic.net/pub/stats/lacnic/ Instructions for building ip.gif from these files can be found in the INSTALL file, budled with the distribution. I'll stall this request, as there's not a lot I can do about it for the moment. I may well come back to the idea of IP->registry lookup. For the moment, I'm concentrating on building a C++ API. However, paches are always welcome :)

IP::Authority bundled in the IP-Country distribution now returns authority for any particular IP address: http://search.cpan.org/author/NWETTERS/IP-Country-2.07/lib/IP/Authority.pm I hope this is useful. --nigel
