Subject: exe crashes on startup with: "procedure entry point PL_memory_wrap coult not be located"
I was using an older version of ActivePerl for a while with no probs, but I upgraded to 5.8.7 build 813, and my troubles with PAR began. If I use versions since .89 (.88 worked). Now when I run an executable that PAR produced (Windows XP), it crashes with: "procedure entry point PL_memory_wrap coult not be located" more info on the setup i used is here: http://www.webinject.org/cgi-bin/ yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Development;action=display;num=1127240631;start=0#1

Sorry this has taken so long. This error has popped up a couple of times already. I will reproduce the answer I gave to the other tickets. --- This is a problem of binary incompatibility between some builds of ActiveState Perl and some binary packages of PAR. Since this problem came up quite often, I have started a compatibility list for ActivePerl versions and PAR binaries. It was compiled with the friendly help of Randy Kobes of uwinnipeg and Jean-Louis Morel, who maintains the bribes repository. You can find it at http://par.wikia.com/wiki/PAR_PPM_Compatibility_List HTH, Steffen --- Can you please try either with a copy of PAR built on your particular machine or whit a binary that is confirmed to work on your platform (as per the compatibility matrix)? Thanks, Steffen
