Versions of CPANPLUS have always worked a treat. But 0.60 fails on FC4: CPAN Terminal> install Mail::SPF::Query Installing Mail::SPF::Query [ERROR] Fetching of 'ftp://usit.shef.ac.uk/pub/packages/CPAN/authors/id/J/JM/JMEHNLE/mail-spf-query/Mail-SPF-Query-1.999.1.tar.gz' failed: Command failed: '/root/.cpanplus/authors/id/J/JM/JMEHNLE/mail-spf-query/Mail-SPF-Query-1.999.1.tar.gz' is an invalid value for 'fetch' at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/CPANPLUS/Module.pm line 441 '1' is an invalid value for 'checksum_ok' at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/CPANPLUS/Shell/Default.pm line 812 [ERROR] Checksum error for 'Mail-SPF-Query-1.999.1.tar.gz' -- will not trust package Error installing 'Mail::SPF::Query' Problem installing one or more modules *** You can view the complete error buffer by pressing 'p' *** CPAN Terminal> -Nigel Horne

This doesn't look like a failure of CPANPLUS to me, but an enabled feature to check the checksums of files before trusting them.. and this one failed. we see this failure regularly when a mirror becomes out of date, or is in the middle of syncing. Sometimes, a day later the problem is gone (sync complete) or switching to another mirror will resolve the situation. If the problem persists with different mirrors and/or at a later time, it might be a bug after all, at which point i'd love to hear about it.
