Dear File::Spec maintainer,
please find attached a proposal for File::Spec 0.84. For
details see the CHANGES file. I did three major changes:
- merge all in the Perl-5.8.0 core to this module
- add support for Mac OS X ($^O eq 'darwin')
- add a "downgrade" feature to make this run on Perl < 5.6
(5.005 is required because Functions.pm wouldn't work -
maybe 5.004 is sufficient, but I don't have it)
- some cleanups and POD additions
Feel free to try this and/or start a discussion on p5p -
File::Spec is widely used and I do not want to break it.
