Seeing as you are using the WWW-Mechanize test suit, you've also fallen
foul of the Window/fork issue. see RT#15429 for my patch to
WWW-Mechanize, as it may be suitable for this too.

If you're involved in the WWW-Mechanzie work, it would be nice to see
this fixed there too, as a growing number of distributions are relying
on it. I was going to take a look at App-SimpleScan, but I'll put it to
one side now :(
