Concerned is Mail::Mailer.pm 1.73, 1.66 is okay, I cannot say anything
about other versions.
Used Perl: v5.8.7
OS: Linux Slackware slamd64, 10.2
problem:
After $mailer->open(), the system forks and two instances follow up the
script.
Running the script you get the following output:

Comparison between versions 1.66 and 1.73 results in some more lines
concerning 'fork'.
