Subject: Failed test in t/podspell
I'm getting multiple warnings and errors running "make test" on version 0.12 of Sys::Syslog, though only one of them appears to be serious enough to make it fail. I'm running perl 5.8.7, build from source on Debian testing. Here's the output from make test: PERL_DL_NONLAZY=1 /usr/local/bin/perl "-MExtUtils::Command::MM" "-e" "test_harness(0, 'blib/lib', 'blib/arch')" t/*.t t/00-load......ok 1/1# Testing Sys::Syslog 0.12, Perl 5.008007, /usr/local/bin/perl t/00-load......ok t/constants....ok 1/78Use of uninitialized value in pattern match (m//) at t/constants.t line 30. t/constants....ok 1/78 skipped: irrelevant test in this case t/distchk......Can't stat lib: No such file or directory at /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/File/Find/Rule.pm line 593 t/distchk......ok 1/6Can't stat lib: No such file or directory at /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/File/Find/Rule.pm line 593 t/distchk......ok t/pod..........ok t/podcover.....ok t/podspell.....Error: You must specify a parameter for "-l". Thank you for the report. The warnings are ugly but expected, and the failed script is podspell.t, which simply verify the spelling of the Pod. I'll modify it so it's skipped during normal tests. -- Sébastien Aperghis-Tramoni Close the world, txEn eht nepO.
