Subject: | Something to help with the tutorial |
Here's a helper script I threw together todday which is designed to get the tutorial or any other sqlite database schema up and running (absolutely minimally configured) in no time. It's pretty raw at the moment.
I think it's common practice (certainly is for me) to take tutorial type material and adapt it for my own needs. So I wrote a helper script to make this extra easy.
Two reasons I did this:
Firstly, I make lots of CRUD interfaces for my own or my colleagues use. Secondly I found the flow of the tutorial slightly confusing.
If it was up to me, I'd explain what the tutorial helper does (in terms of the helper scripts it runs and the nescessary edits of the model and tests), then get into the more application specific configuration. This way the tutorial starts with basic nescessary stuff, and leads in to important-but-not-showstopper material and then more optional bells and whistles stuff.
Feedback appreciated.
Nice work with C::E by the way.
