What about the option to:
noop on events for something like inputting whitepsace i.e; a space.
The rendered content will typically be the same and it is a wasted server hit.
poll for changes with some threshold, so that for fast typing it does not
hit on every keystroke but only every few (this would probably be most often used for larger edit areas and less so for live dictionary lookups).
