It's been suggested that the UI should support diffs between arbitrary revisions.
A possible implementation is, when viewing the log, to show a checkbox next to each entry, with a "compare revisions" button somewhere. This would then compare the two selected revisions.
What to do if $num_selected_checkboxes != 2 is undecided at this point.
