Subject: Handle incorrect version numbering
I had a problem to "upgrade" from Net::IMAP::Simple version 0.93 to its current version 0.104 since the version numbers are not numerically increasing (0.98, 0.99, 0.100, 0.101, ...). The software on search.cpan.org seems to remember that versions 0.10x are more recent than 0.9x. But my local CPAN Perl module (1.59_54) refused to install the most recent version 0.104 because it said that the installed version 0.93 was up-to-date. Not that I would recomment such a weird version numbering scheme, but is there a way for CPAN to work around that? An unexperienced user will not manage to upgrade these badly packaged modules.
