make failed on RH7.3 with gcc-2.96-110.i386c-2.96-110.i386

good day:) I tried to install your stuff at the following : Compress-Zlib-1.16 perl, v5.6.1 built for i386-linux Linux version 2.4.18-3 (bhcompile@daffy.perf.redhat.com) Red Hat Linux 7.3 gcc-2.96-110.i386 But make and make test failed with errors please read the following output thank you for any guidelines how to solve this Nada [root@linux Compress-Zlib-1.16]# perl Makefile.PL Parsing config.in... Good day I have just overgo the problem and it's solved:) it did not work with zlib-1.1.3-25.7 installed with RH7.3 so I did rpm -e --nodeps zlib-1.1.3-25.7 downloaded new version (with security patch) from http://www.libpng.org/pub/png/src/zlib-1.1.4.tar.gz installed simply make test make install and after this your Compress-Zlib-1.16 was installed without any problems so just correct your info in README:) best regards Nada machkova@sazp.sk Show quoted text
