Hi -- I've got a perl script that computes the MD5 checksum of the mp3 file, but also of the mp3 data itself (without any tags). This is useful for finding duplicate songs with merely different tags.
Unfortunately I've found some ID3v2 tags that lie about how long they are, and need to actually search for the sync string that starts the MP3. Instead of reimplementing the code you have in get_mp3info, I've used the following patch to allow me to get it from that routine.
It'd be nice if the patch actually became part of the distribution! Thanks for your consideration.
