I cloned the Gitlab repo from https://gitlab.com/djerius/Alien-XPA.git and after some fight with the installation I ran the dzil test It modified the README.mkdn If this is a generated file then it probably does not need to be committed to git.

README.mkdn is indeed a generated file. It's part of the commited files so that github and gitlab have something to display when you browse to the project's web page.
