Good day,
I have used POE in the past (WinNT era with ActivePerl, so I'm aware with some limitations of the module on non *nix machines. However, I was always able to compule and run it for the functionality I needed at that point.
Now I am experiencing a problem while trying to install POE-1.368 via CPAN on a fresh install of Strawberry Perl (64-bit) Portable 5.32.0.1-64bit on my Win10 x64 machine (Dell Latitude E5270, Intel Core i5-6300U, 8GB RAM)
Basically the symptom is the following: CPAN retrieves and compiles things as it should without errors. However, it stops as shown in the screenshot and just hangs there eternally. CTRL/C causes a termination on signal SIGINT(2) and asks if the batch job should be terminated.
My question: how can I obtain more information as to the cause of this and how can I make Strawberry Perl / CPAN install POE, even without testing?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Just in case, I plan to use POE in an enterprise environment to monitor status messages coming off Northbound interfaces of 100+ Windows servers and realtime process them in an SQL database - similar to what I have been doing back at the time.
Thanks for your support!
