In a CPAN.pm shell: cpan[4]> m Image::Synchronize Module id = Image::Synchronize CPAN_USERID LSTROUS (Louis Strous <CENSORED>) CPAN_VERSION 1.4 CPAN_FILE L/LS/LSTROUS/Image-Synchronize-1.4.tar.gz UPLOAD_DATE 2019-06-08 INST_FILE (not installed) The problem is that in perl version terms, 1.4.2 is translated to 1.004002 which is less than 1.4. To be on the safe side, never mix one dot and two dot versions. If you really want to use two dots, then you have to release 1.400.2 or even 2.0.0.
