I used the email addr - bug-Dancer2 *[at]* rt.cpan.org - specified to
report the bug. Note the dancer2 is all lower case in the url.
What does 'rt' stand for?
It also has a large yellow box linking 'Preferred bug tracker'. rt is the 'Request Tracker' you're using.
Show quoted text> My bad on the upcase issue. I was frustrated about having to uninstall and
reinstall Perl this morning. I wasn't as careful as I should have been
about typing the command. However, there was nothing that I saw in the
response to the command that suggested that it was simply a case issue.
Other times the script has been quite helpful about suggesting possible
problems.
I'm not convince you had to take this course of action.
Show quoted text> One comment: I've been pushing bits for about 50 years now. I've probably
used 20 languages commercially. I've written compilers, assemblers, and
realtime operating systems. I've worked for two large computer vendors,
some research centers, some startups, and had my own biz for 11 years. I'm
using Perl for the first time as it seems to be the best language for the
current task I have. Your support model of making the user figure out what
component is causing the problem is not user friendly. It makes me, someone
who simply installed Perl for a task, have to know too many internals and
structures, and carefully read all of the diagnostic output, in order to
get help with a problem. Just my humble opinion.
You haven't shown any thing other than a failed attempt to install a module. I'm not part of the dancer support team, this is a public bug tracker. Reading the output of something shouldn't be too taxing given your level of experience.
The dancer homepage links to their IRC channel if you prefer real time help.
