Since the release of DBI version 1.40 on January 7, 2004, DBI has automatically used Apache::DBI for connect_cached() calls when Apache::DBI is loaded. That means there is no reason for this module to exist anymore, so I'd suggest taking it down or putting a big disclaimer in the documentation saying not to use it anymore.
