Subject: Version 0.44 tarball still has version 0.43 everywhere
The tarball unpacks to IO-Pager-0.43. Also META.json and META.yml and IO/Pager.pm still have the old version: https://metacpan.org/release/IO-Pager/source/lib/IO/Pager.pm#L2 I found this because we at SUSE Linux are automatically updating CPAN modules to upload them into our repository. The broken version and tarball directory makes it impossible to update this module.
