git-stitch-repo replaces periods in the new path with hyphens
e.g.
git-stitch-repo ../my.other.repo ../and.yet.another | git fast-import
returns a git repo with structure:
my-other-repo
and-yet-another
git-stitch-repo shouldn't change the path by default. I realise the branch
name can't contain periods but this shouldn't impact on paths.
