Subject: | Version number 1.1.1 is lower than version number 1.1 |
As per subject. Being a decreasing version number, it will not be indexed and users will not find the new release 1.1.1.
Witness:
% perl -le 'use version; print version->new($ARGV[0])->numify > version->new($ARGV[1])->numify ? "$ARGV[0] is higher than $ARGV[1]" : "$ARGV[0] is not higher than $ARGV[1]"' v1.1.1 1.1
v1.1.1 is not higher than 1.1
Maybe one should recommend reading "version numbers should be boring" once again? http://www.dagolden.com/index.php/369/version-numbers-should-be-boring/ or maybe http://blogs.perl.org/users/grinnz/2018/04/a-guide-to-versions-in-perl.html or maybe https://cpants.cpanauthors.org/dist/Google-GeoCoder-Smart
Thanks,
