I run perl 5.28.0 on a SUN SPARC Solaris 10 machine with Config::Std in Version 0.903 I have attached a very small perl program (zipped so that our Mailer is not removing it) that demonstrates IMHO the wrong behavior. A hash key gets added and written to the config file, then deleted from the hash and removed from the config file and then added again but NOT written again into the config file. This is not what I expected. Furthermore the def_gap => 0 is not working on my environment which is more a cosmetic issue. Many thanks for looking into my issue. Regards Markus Show quoted text

Thank you for your report and sample code to exhibit the issue. (Regarding the cosmetic secondary issue, yes, we have a longstanding cosmetic issue there. 91847 def_gap => 0 not honored ) More importantly, thank you for the feedback that someone is still valuing this module.
Confirmed that this is not a regression, same behavior exists in 0.02 with Perl 5.10.
