Type::Tiny is more actively maintained than MooseX::Types::Parameterizable, and would allow the type library to be used in non-Moose projects without introducing a dependency on Moose. (DBIx::Class itself doesn't use Moose.)
I'd be happy to do the actual coding for you. The changes shouldn't be big.
