I hope that this is the correct place and manner in which to report problems.
I am a long-time user (many many years) of the TeX Live distribution which, since 2011 or perhaps before, has used Perl/TK to create a GUI interface to the TeX Live installer. When using this interface, I every year encounter the same problem :
* I click at the end of some pre-populated text in a free-text dialogue box and drag leftwards to select the entire string; I then type the first character of the text which I wish to insert in place of the pre-populated text. I /expect/ the pre-populated text to disappear at that point, and my character to appear (unselected) as the only character in the dialogue box; it does not. The pre-populated text does disappear, but the character that I have just entered remains selected, as a result of which the next character that I enter overwrites the first. And so on.
This year, for the first time, I then encountered a new problem :
* I clicked <Cancel> and nothing happened. I tried again, -- ditto --. I tried 20 times, -- ditto --. Only by giving focus to another application/window/process and then restoring it to the Perl/TK window could <Cancel> be persuaded to have the desired effect.
UNIV: Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit, regularly updated, protected by Sophos and Malwarebytes Pro.
