Probably due to warning:

or arrayref expected (not a simple scalar, use allow_nonref to allow this) at C
:/strawberry160/perl/site/lib/JSON.pm line 154.
With BEGIN { $ENV{PERL_JSON_BACKEND} = 'JSON::PP' } use JSON;
tests pass.
