Basic test breaks with old Devel::StackTrace

t/0-basic.t ............... Devel::StackTrace version 2 required--this is only version 1.34 at /usr/share/perl5/Exception/Class/Base.pm line 9, <DATA> line 1. This prerequisite should be listed in Makefile.PL, otherwise install fails. Regards Racke

Hi, I do not have a direct dependency to Devel::StackTrace. I have not run the tests with Perls newer than 5.20 – maybe this is one of the reasons. I will run the tests with newer versions in order to reproduce your bug report. Which Perl version did you use? BTW: would you like to take-over this (tiny) module? Hi Stefan, thank you for taking over this module. I have changed my PAUSE setting to make you the primary maintainer. In the meantime, I tried to run the tests with a fresh 5.24 install – all tests pass. I don't know why ended up with an older version of Devel::StackTrace, but you can reproduce the problem with installing a version from 2014: cpanm https://cpan.metacpan.org/authors/id/D/DR/DROLSKY/Devel-StackTrace-1.34.tar.gz I'll take care of the problem by uploading a new release soon. It actually seems to be a bug in Dist::Zilla or due to an outdate, because it occurs when running t/author-pod-coverage.t. This test file is generated by Dist::Zilla and shouldn't run on a normal install. Also it should impose proper dependencies. Just to mention it: I'm not a friend of Dist::Zilla and would rather use Makefile.PL where weird failures are less common IMHO. Regards Racke Show quoted text
