Hi! Net::Ping does not have license specified. This is bad, as nothing apart from license allows one to use and distribute the code, and if no license is specified, it's not actually possible to legally use the module. This also affects dependent projects - for example, OCS inventory ([1]) agent cannot be packaged while it depends on Net::Ping. So please add a clearly defined license, see [2] for more info. No. 1 . Net-Ping is upstream at perl5 (and also an advanced version in cperl), so any error should be reported there, not with the CPAN module. 2. the license is specified in the module documention. Oh, I get it. So the separate package with this module is not needed at all. Show quoted text

Still would be nice to mention it in META.* -- Dmitry Marakasov . 55B5 0596 FF1E 8D84 5F56 9510 D35A 80DD F9D2 F77D amdmi3@amdmi3.ru ..: jabber: amdmi3@jabber.ru http://amdmi3.ru

True. That’s now really a bug for the CPAN version, which is outdated. The embedded version in perl5 and cperl do contain no META.yml nor a LICENSE file. But keeping this cpan version update is really p5p’s fault. I have no permission to upload the latest. Reini Urban rurban@cpan.org
The META definition contains now the license, if supported by EUMM.
