Subject: Non-free license for Crypt-ECB
Crypt::ECB (ECB.pm) contains the following copyright notice: =head1 LICENSE This module is distributed under the "Artistic License" using the same terms as Perl itself. This is not a FSF free license. If possible, could you please re-license this file under a FSF free license e.g.'GPL+ or Artistic' or 'Artistic 2.0'
I'll be glad to distribute my module with a free license. Anyway, before applying any changes, I would like to understand the issue. Is "Artistic using the same terms as perl itself" not the same as "Artistic"?

As I understand, the license you mention is the original Artistic 1 license <http://dev.perl.org/licenses/artistic.html>. This license is not acceptable for some parties, e.g. Fedora Linux distribution, because it's too vague <http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#ArtisticLicense>. The Perl has dual-licensing with GNU GPL <http://dev.perl.org/licenses/> . If you want to distribute it in "same term as perl" the "GNU General Public License" should be also mention.
Ok, I've updated my module to allow both GPL1 (or later) and Artistic. New version is attached. As I'm not an expert with that licensing stuff, could you please have a look at it and provide some feedback before I upload it to CPAN? Thanks, Christoph

The license looks good now. Thanks, Jitka
Ok, thanks. I just uploaded it to CPAN.
