Subject: [Patch] "Use of the encoding pragma is deprecated"
Date: Tue, 21 Jun 2016 01:02:07 +0200
To: bug-device-gsm [...] rt.cpan.org
From: Christoph Biedl <debian.axhn [...] manchmal.in-ulm.de>
Hello, Debian reported a Perl warning about "use enoding" in t/21pdu_latin1.t: https://bugs.debian.org/826445 The patch attached changes that file to use escaped characters instead of 8bit ones, the test still passes. Please consider this for an upcoming release, or fix it in an other way. Aside, Debian's lintian checker suggested to change four occurances of "allows to" into "allows one to" in the pod of lib/Device/Gsm.pm. Although I'm not a native speaker I guess that's the right thing to do. Regards, Christoph

Thanks! Fixed it in 1.61, on github and on the way to CPAN. https://github.com/cosimo/perl5-device-gsm/tree/CPAN-v1.61 I also fixed the t/25msgread.t test, which had the same problem. Amended the documentation as well, even though I wasn't 100% convinced it was worth it, to be honest.
