Subject: 2.15 (and 2.16) cause test failures in MIME-tools
I expect from the changelog that this is deliberate, and that MIME-tools was depending on buggy behaviour, but I thought I'd draw it to your attention just in case it's not. See https://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=113887

Thanks for reporting! The failing test is with this: Received: (qmail 24486 invoked by uid 501); 20 May 2000 01:55:02 -0000 Date: Fri, 19 May 2000 21:55:02 -0400 From: "Russell P. Sutherland" <russ@quist.on.ca> To: "Russell P. Sutherland" <russ@quist.on.ca> Subject: test message 1 Message-ID: <20000519215502.A24482@quist.on.ca> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii X-Mailer: Mutt 1.0us Organization: Quist Consulting The header is not properly terminated; the "blank line" actually has a space in it. That did change in last release a bit: more relaxed on the parsing (mainly continuing on incorrectly folded lines). That's nice in theory, but has lead to too many gigantic balls of hate as other people don't bother to check the RFC at all and just chuck any old rubbish at software that is liberal in what it accepts. These days I'm more and more inclined towards libraries being strict in everything. In any case, the author of MIME-tools has a patch, so I presume that will hit the CPAN immimently.

It takes too long before MIME::Tools repairs the test, so I have reverted my change. Hopefully everything installs again with v2.17... -- Regards, MarkOv ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Overmeer MSc MARKOV Solutions Mark@Overmeer.net solutions@overmeer.net http://Mark.Overmeer.net http://solutions.overmeer.net
